Puppy scam, purchased a puppy, insurance, paid for travel. Never received the dog. Reports & Reviews (1)

- Leominster, MA, USA

I attempted to purchase a puppy from their website. The "breeder" contacted me via text from 718-587-7844 and stated the puppy was available and payment will be made through Payoneer. I paid for the puppy, transportation, and fees. I was informed the next day that the puppy was in transport and I'd hear from the transport company. I then received an email from "Pet-Express" stating the puppy didn't pass the Rochester, NY inspection for live animals due to missing travel insurance paperwork and will be quarantined until payment is received. I then paid the travel insurance amount through Payoneer and was told I would be reimbursed once the dog is delivered. The name on the Payoneer account was Yurii D and he used the email address of [email protected].

The "Pet-Express" email appeared legitimate, however, upon further research it was discovered they were copying the real business website and sending the email from [email protected].
