A puppy was posted for sale for $1100 @ puppies.com, located in Sacramento. The puppy was very cute. The picture was perfectly taken. I inquired about it on a sunday (1/21/24) and the seller Rachel T who claimed to be a nurse in Sacramento, working as an adhoc employee at *** **** ****** ****, said the puppies will be ready by thursday. She asked for my phone number, email address and home address which I provided. She gave me her number as 747-283-3913 and she has been working double shifts so is unable to communicate much over the phone. She only texted me on the phone, no calls. She sent me pictures and videos of the puppy through email. She said if I wanted to put a hold on the puppy so that it doesn’t go to other buyers to put a downpayment of $400. She gave me the name Tabitha Narcisse and zelle email [email protected]. She said it was her middle name and surname. The first name she gave me was Rachel. The payment did not go through. So she said I can send it to her daughter’s zelle account. Her daughter’s name given was Angela Carlson with a zelle email of [email protected]. The payment went through. She continued to email me also sharing things about her family. Then asked me if I wanted to get a 2nd puppy since she had 4 listed and there was a still 1 who was not taken. I said no. The plan was I was going to pick up the puppy in Sacramento on thursday but due to work conflict, i asked if i can just pick up the puppy on Saturday and she said she will exchange her work shift so thar she can be available when I pick up. It was all set for saturday. Then she emailed me that someone bought the last puppy who lives an hour from me and will be delivered by transport services and asked me if I will also avail of the service and i said yes. She told me the fee was $100. I said I can add the fee to my balance once I get the puppy. One thing she shared about her family was having a sister that who will be undergoing kidney transplant. Then she shared that they are still raising funds to be scheduled for the surgery snd her sister (Ruth) really needed the surgery by sunday (1/28/24) but they need to pay the specialist first. She even sent me pictures of “them”. She kept pressuring me to pay the balance and I kept saying I will pay upon the delivery of the puppy. Then she told me her daughter went back to Reno, NV. She again shared the need for money for surgery on email and gave me he “husband’s” zelle account for me to email the rest of the money. The zelle account email [email protected] under the name Jonathan Chen. I decided to send $5 to that account as sign of good faith that I will pay the rest once I get the puppy. The money went through. I even said, I can pick up on thursday as originally agreed so I can hand her the remaining balance of $700, I can have the puppy and she can use the money for what she needed. Then she said they will not be home at that time. That is when i realized that I got scammed. I continued to pretend that i did not realize it. She kept begging that she needed the money for her sister. She gave me the name & emails for the transporter as Michael Norland [email protected] and [email protected]. I replied to her back that there is no contact number for the transporter so how can I know for sure. About an hour later, i got a call “Michael” from the number (817)546-6468. Saying he will be picking up the puppies for delivery. He spoke with an accent, sounds asian. He told me he will call me as he was nearing my area and even told me to let Rachel know that he called me. I went along with it. Then rachel continued pressuring me about the remaining balance so that they can pay before the 4pm deadline. I also gave her a story that I was low on cash and that my sister will send me money through the bank and the bank is open until 5pm (Friday). She continued with the story that the transporter was not fully paid and will not deliver the puppy unless paid. I replied I can pay him once he delivers the puppy. Rachel said Michael will not deliver unless fully paid by Rachel, even though i offered to pay upon delivery. She continued with the story that Michael is just hanging out around my area until i send the full payment to Rachel. (The story was alreadt ridiculous).

I was interested in a puppy. I received 2 emails after my initial inquiry. The phone number given wasn't answered. Shortly after attempting to call I received a text stating "the network is a mess right now and your voice wasn't clear either so I didn't hear a thing you said. Please reply to me on email." I never spoke to a human. I was sent another email telling me how to have the puppy sent to me. They wanted $650 for the puppy and $150 delivery. They wanted the money upfront. After reading this email I sent a text telling them I was no longer interested because I thought it was a scam. There was no further contact from them.
