- Orland Park, IL, USA

I received this letter and check in mail yesterday and the check looks legitimate, but was afraid to cash it. Then went online to PCH and read what to look for if scam. PCH said they would not send a check in mail unless certified mail needing my signature, plus they would have their name on check.

I want to make others aware of this recent scam and hopefully find the real source of it.

Thank you!

I received a call from John Reid claiming to be with Publishers Clearing House and that I had won the sweepstakes. He claimed I had won $950,000 and a BMW but to claim my prize I needed to send $295 via Western Union or MoneyGram to another person to pay for delivery fees for my prizes.

- Vineland, NJ, USA

They said I won the pch contest and that I needed to go to a western union and send $950.00 to a address in florida. I hung up but they were still able to withdraw $950.00 from my bank.

A person by the name of Michael, called and left a number and name and mesg..

I said ABSOLUTELY not..this is the initial number 518-478-8976... initially he constantly tried to convince me that they were PCH and i had won.. i wish i had!!!!
