Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes

I received a call informing me that I was a winner in the Publishers Clearing house sweepstakes. I knew this was a scam because I never entered the sweepstakes. I decided to see where the call led. The man gave me his name and ask me to repeat it back to him which I did not. He then asked me to repeat some of the initial information he gave me and I told him that I couldn't remember. He asked me to write numbers down on a piece of paper. He have me an ID #, a ticket #, a Bar code #, confirmation #, Ref #. Once I had written everything down he asked me to read everything back to him so he could record it for the BBB, Bank of America and someone else that I cannot recall. I told him that I was having problems hearing him and would like to call him right back. He gave me his phone # 571-216-8836 and said his name was Andy Golderg. I called him back and he answered so I know it is a legitimate phone number although he did not answer with a company name but it was his voice. He wanted me to repeat the numbers back to him and I again said that I was having phone issues and asked if he would send me the information and I would get it notarized and sent back. I asked him if he had my address and he said yes. I asked him to repeat it to me so that I made sure that it went to the proper address. He hung up on me and when I tried to call him back, he did not answer. He was clearly trying to record me.

Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes

On Saturday March 9th they called me and my husband and then got my number and had both phones tied up at one time. He went and got an Amazon gift card for 499.99 and gave them the numbers off the back of the card. Our daughter got involved at that point and goggled the numbers they were calling from and it said Jamaican money scam. Since then they have called his phone almost every day. Today a lady called and said we needed to pay tax on the money and the car we had won and said she was from the US Treasury Dept. We told her we had not won anything and she said she would talk to David and get it straight. He is the guy we gave the gift card number to. He then called and told my husband to get in the car and go to our bank and he said no they had stole the gift card money and he was not going to the bank. The other numbers they called from was 876 958 0181 and the lady today called from 269 651 4115. Thank you

A heavily accented male with a terrible connection asked a number of questions, provided four names of the "prize awarding committee, and then requested a purchase at either a Walmart or Walgreen, the receipt of which would somehow verify my identity. He wasted a great deal of my time in the process and called me "sweetie" too often.

On Feb 6, 2019 at 8am a phone message was left indicating that we had won 2.5 million dollars and a Mercedes.

The call came from a person who identified himself as Michael W***, no organization mentioned. We return the call to (603) 609-0429 on 2/6 at 1pm. A male answered stating he was Michael W***. He said our name was place into a raffle type drawing because we shopped at Walmart, Pub. Clearing House etc. Our name was submitted by Walmart along with 200,000 other names. He also said "this call is being monitored by the BBB." He said check with the BBB and call him back and then gave us a call back code. We don't know if this is real or a scam of some type. PLEASE HELP. NOT SURE IF THIS IS A SCAM.

Man called with a somewhat thick accent. Said he was from Publisher's Clearing House. I told him that I hadn't entered and he said it was because I had paid my bills on time for a long time in Alaska. He insisted that it wasn't a scam and that it really was PCH. He gave a lot of names of people that were going to come by the house and what my winning ticket # was. It took about 15 minutes for him to get to where he said I needed to take 1 percent of the winning amt ($850) to the local post office; then the official papers would be maintained in Anchorage. Then they would send a check for the remaining winning amount. He sounded more and more fishy as time went on. After about 20 minutes on the phone with him I hung up. he did not call back.
