Walmart Mystery Shoppers Scam: I was send a check for $2,350, to deposit in my checking account, to purchase gift cards from two different walmart. Once purchased I was instructed to take a picture of the cards and text or email them. In return I would receive $300, dollars.

Needless to said I did not fall for the scam.

Received 2 USPS priority mail envelopes on the same day, each containing an official check for $2850 and a letter with instructions on how I am to spend the money (buying Multiple WalMart gift cards) at 2 different WalMart’s in my local city. My town has ZERO WalMart’s so I would need to travel to the two bordering towns to do this. Letter states I am to TEXT msg to phone number 586-213-3430 as well as email [email protected] as soon as I receive the package and I must complete the purchases within 48 hours Then alert the same number by text that I have completed the tasks and send them PICTURES OF ALL THE GIFT CARDS AND PIN NUMBERS and I will receive a $100 bonus 24 hours after I do this in addition to the $350 left from the checks received. There is also a form to fill out related to the shopping experience to grade the experience you had in buying the cards. The address on top of the survey form is a Calgary AB Canada address. This is how they scam you....the pictures serve as a purchase receipt to them and they can then use the gift cards to buy things online while you are stuck holding the bag for fictitious checks. My 80 yr old mom was a scam victim about 10 years ago and she Lost her butt paying the bank back for the fake checks. The return address on the envelope is from *** *** ***, 125 Cessna Dr, Beaver Falls PA 15010-1060. Checks are drawn on Rogue Credit Union in Medford OR and are 59 numbers apart in sequence numbering.

I saw a link for a mystery shop opportunity for Walmart. I signed up, and they sent me a document and cashiers check for $2350. They wanted me to deposit the cashiers check, purchase $2000 in Walmart gift cards, send them the codes for the gift cards and keep the $350 for my compensation.
