Got the notice after buying a house. Called to get more info, was hung up on and then the girl refused to answer the phone. Since reporting like this doesn't do much...I think I'll just submit her number to every conceivable spam call list I can find :)

WARN your house buying friends, especially seniors! Trash like this isn't just in Nigeria & India anymore.

Received a letter a month after purchasing home for “RECORDED DEED NOTICE”. Clearly formatted made to look like a bill or government notice. Small paragraph in the bottom explains the letter is a solicitation, which must be sufficient for it to be legal. They offer to create a Property Assessment File with a copy of the Deed for $98, I suspect the property assessment file is compiled from publicly available data and copies of deeds will be available at country registrar offices for far far less than $100. Ignore the letter. Frankly astonished they’re allowed to send these kind of letters.

recently purchased a property, and moved. received letter resembling an invoice for $98.00 for "property assessment profile which includes a complimentary copy of your current grant deed or other record of title."

heading is "recorded deed notice" and referenced below is "orange county public information," accurately listing the particulars of my purchase.

i was pleased with myself for realizing immediately that this was a scam. googled the company name, ScamPulse.com site came up with numerous prior complaints.

beware!

Please don’t be tricked by this. It is not a bill. It is a solicitation. Do not use this predatory scam. Throw it away.

Asking for money for Recorded Deed Notice

I received this same letter from Property Site, Norco, telling me to respond by a certain date.

Letter was addressed to my mother at my home address, but the "deed" information was for her address in another city. She has never lived with me at my address. Said she should pay $98 dollars to receive a copy of the deed to her house. At the bottom in small letters it mentions "this is not a bill. This is a solicitation" THROW AWAY (well shred the information). TOTAL SCAM!

Received a letter with a Record ID# 568-10113076, Service Fee: $98.00, and to Please Respond By: 10/08/2021. Googled the Company Address, Property Site, 2420 River Road Suite 5065, Norco, CA 92860. Conducted a survey of the shopping complex of the its alleged address. There is no Suite 5065 at that address. Googled the company name, Property Site, and phone number: 1-888-507-1523, and found other people have had similar experiences which resulted as a scam.

I received a document in the mail that appears very much like a bill from our county recorders office. It lists details of our property and gives a dollar amount of $98 and a date to “respond”, which can easily be interpreted as a due date on a bill. Everything about this letter looked like an official bill. I was totally ready to send it in until I saw that the address to send it was not even in my state, let alone the county I live in. Upon checking online I saw that there have been other complaints about this company. It takes advantage of people by selling you your own information. I believe this is a fraudulent scam with intent to purposely present their mailing as a bill to collect money on the unsuspecting public.

People should be warned to ignore anything from this company.

This company offers to provide a "copy of your current deed" for a fee.

A letter was sent in the mail with a warning on the front of the envelope citing US Mail TTT.18 Code. The letter is titled "Recorded Deed Notice" and has the transaction information for our property that was recently purchased. It states that homeowners should obtain a copy of a property assessment profile and Grant Deed to ensure that all information has been recorded accurately.

The letter seems like an official notice and, if it is not read carefully, could deceive others into purchasing a report containing information that can be easily obtained through public records.

The company sent us a letter that seemed like we had to pay it. We don't have to.

They are requesting $95 for a deed of a home I just purchased. The letter looks official but when I looked up the pay online account it was quite obvious it was a scam. Others received similar letters.

I googled the phone number and saw that it was a scam. Don't send money to random companies you know nothing about.

As soon as the purchase went to public records, I received this letter in the mail.

Within a few weeks of having a parcel of land deeded to us, my husband and I received a “RECORDED DEED NOTICE” letter in the mail. The letter appeared to come from a company called “Property Site” out of Fresno, CA. They were asking us to send them $95.00 to obtain a copy of our “Property Assessment Profile” and a copy of our deed. I was immediately suspicious because 1) I know land deeds are public documents that you can easily obtain for free off the internet, and 2) our address listed in the letter was incorrect. I called our local Deeds/Records office, who informed me that these letters were scams that they had seen several times recently.

Fine print says "This is not a bill. This is a solicitation." It makes it seem like a bill, and the company was probably made to try and make a quick buck on new home owners. The information they try to sell you is available to you for free.
