The scammer is running a dog breeder website online. When they reached out to me via text in reply to my interest email via website, they sent pictures of the dog and the cost of dog purchase and transport. Being that the dog was in another state, I asked to do a video call so I could be sure the dog truly existed. They refused to do a video call until a contract and $450 non refundable deposit were completed. They said pictures had already been sent and the process could be cancelled. I terminated the process at this time.
