An Individual left voice mail message saying she wanted to discuss we me an "important matter about my PSE&G account"; she left me a reference number to use. When I called back another person took my call and stated that her company called, POWER CHOICE, was contracted by PSE&G to help customers search for the best clean energy company rate if our bills are too high. She said that PURE ENERGYCo. right now had the lowest billing rate. We proceeded to change my present clean energy provider to Pure Energy. After the call I immediately called PSE&G and they told me that PSE&G does NOT contract with anyone to search for lower clean energy rates for its customers. This person from POWER CHOICE was NOT AUTHORIZED by PSE&G. PSE&G told me that if a request for a change in energy supplier comes to them on behalf of one of their customer's they will notify the customer for approval. I also called Pure Energy Co. and they did not have my PoD ID from my PSE&G bill in their system and that they would stop any change request that might come through.
