On May 19, I placed an order for a Nespresso coffee machine through the Shop app that was through the company website popularitems.com. It cost 188.95 but I had "$5 shop cash" so it charged my credit card $183.95. When I originally clicked on the site, it had quite a bit of things on it and looked to be legitimate for the purpose of selling things online. I purchased the machine and received a receipt from the shop app but nothing from the company. Typically you see all the progress through the app as the order is preparing to be shipped and is shipped out but I haven't seen any progress in 7 days since placing the order. I also tried to email the seller twice but it bounced back both times. When I did a more thorough Google search tons of people have reported this company as a scam. When I went back to their site to try to find other means of contacting them, it now says that the site is down and it has been down since the day after I placed my order. There's no way of contacting the company and I now believe that this is very much a scam. I have contacted the shop app to try to get them to take the sellers items off their app and talked to Discover to try to get them to cancel the transaction which has not worked either. I'm reaching out to you hoping to prevent anyone else from being scammed by popularitems.com and because now I have no idea how to get my money back for a coffee machine I will not be receiving.
