I received an evaluation assignment in a priority mail envelope along with a cashiers check in the amount of $1,450. He is Simon cold for me to purchase Nike gift cards and to report my findings from various stores that sell them regarding the sales person, Length of time, date and time of purchase, and my general opinion of the store. I was to keep the cards but make copies of both sides and send them back to them via email with my report. I will notify the sender of my noncompliance with their fraudulent actions and report themTo the attorney generals office is of the states they’re affiliated with.

I have just received the exact same scam in a Priority Mail envelope and was immediately suspicious. Thank you for confirming my suspicions. The fact that they were sending a stranger so much money was questionable to begin with. Trusted my feelings about this and found them to be right on.

Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order

I received a fraudulent Secret Survey assignment check. When I first got it, and read through it, I was suspicious. So I decided to look online to see if it was a scam and it only took one search to find very similar scams to this one on the ksla.com website. The website mentions a very similar scenario for many people who have been scammed or victimized before by this sort of customer service evaluation scam. The letter starts with congratulating you for your “achievement” and telling you to take additional steps to be able to get your official $1450.00 check. The main part of this scam seems to be that they want you to buy $1,100.00 worth of NIKE’s Gift Cards with the 1,450 dollars that is given to you, which turns out to be fake, and take pictures of the back of the cards showing the code that they will then take and use. What really set off the alarms in my head was the at the end where it says “REMINDER” in all caps, stating that “if asked if you are a secret surveyor kindly answer NO as stated above.” which I found to be very weird and abnormal. So I have turned this into you so that other vulnerable people will not be victimized or taken advantage of by this scam.
