I spoke to a fake customer service representative. He asked for my utility company account number and took my credit card number and phone bumber. There was noise in the background, with several people apparently on the phone doing similar work. He had a foreign accent, possibly from India. I also received a text with a confirmation of my payment. As soon as I hung up, I knew something wasn't right. I immediately called the real customer service number and reported the incident. I had to cancel my credit card, which was a real hassle.
