I got a phone call stating that land lines are no longer being used in my neighborhood as noted by the FCC. They asked for my personal information and said that they will mail me a product that I will plug my land line into and plug it into the wall. They had me to agree to pay them 29.00 with taxes totaling to 34.00 a month. I had to announce with my voice that I agree to pay for the service for a year and if discontinued service prior to the year of service, I would be responsible for the entire year's service. I called AT&T after the call and they said that they are not discontinuing my services and to cancel that service. They would not answer the phone, there was only a recording that responded. AT&T said that they don't call companies that call customers. I did hear another technical device click on when I gave my age, date of birth, address, and phone code number for my AT&T phone service, before I realized it was a scam. They may have a recording of my voice stating yes to agree to a contract and services that my original phone company is not aware of. I have no plans to use that service because my phone service that I am paying does plan to disregard my services. I cannot afford to pay two phone bills. My husband said that I gave enough information for someone to commit identity fraud or be able to rip me off with the financial agreement that I admitted to use. Even if it is not a scam, I am not going to stop services with AT&T and pay them. I tried to contact them to cancel the service and got no response. I added my email address with the company's because the application would not continue without filing out that space; they gave no email or website.
