The area code of the phone scam being 240, this indicates the call came from a U.S. cell phone. The person had a heavy Indian accent and said his name was Clay. The call spoofed Johns Hopkins, a hospital I went recently for medical reason. The scammer wanted me to get some back brace, covered by Medicare. I reported such a back brace medicare spam a few months ago, and it seems my number is still navigating the scammers' sites of shared # to scam. I told the scammer I was aware of a scam with these back brace through Medicare and would contact JH to check with them if this was real or a scam. I left a scam report with JH, and now with you (my second with you). but maybe the scammer's phone number was the same--but I no longer have the first number I reported.
