They pretended to be from Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). They said I was was being investigated for a third party helping me and that I had to do this to clear my name. I was told I was paying penalty fees for this investigation and that I would be refunded after my name was cleared. They said the payment was going into my GED account and that's how I would be refunded. I sent all my payments through cash app. I went out to Central Georgia tech to get my GED account back and had a hard time proving it was me. They had changed the email address and the phone number on my GEDaccount.
