Petland Ferrets Reports & Reviews (5)

My friend had found the website and everything seemed legit. I was almost going to get a ferret from there as well. She had lost $305 dollars to the site. The people she was talking to sounding extremely nice, and even gave some pictures of the ferret she was going to get. I keep on checking back to see if it comes back up so I can try and get her money back, but I know it won't be the case. She had sent them the money through CashApp, and after that they stopped responding. The next day she tried to email them through the same email and it didn't exist anymore, and the website was down. Everything seemed pretty legit, especially since they gave her a contract and everything. I'm actually glad I didn't buy a ferret from that site because I would've been out of money as well.

Right before Christmas last year we found this website petlandferrets com and started emailing back and fourth. We picked 2 ferrets and paid $700 through Zelle (I should have known better) and it took a little while to get the sales receipt. They were going to be delivered the following day via plane. (Red flag)

We got the same notice from movers-mx starting the ferrets were stuck in transit waiting to have a special crate otherwise they could die. They reassured me it would be refunded upon arrival. At this point I knew it was a scam. I explained to this phony via email that they wouldn't have been put in transit if they weren't paid and ready for the whole trip.

How awful are these people? My son was heartbroken, especially at his age he didn't understand and was begging me to pay the extra money so they wouldn't die. I explained to him that there weren't any ferrets in the first place, nothing but a scam. Shame on these people! I'm trying to get my $700 back. I checked back on their website months after this happened and they had the same stock pictures and information on the exact same ferrets. It looks like they finally took them down. Any ideas on where to go after these creeps for our lost money?
Total scam & heartbreak!!

They want you to pay thru Zelle and then you supposedly get a sales contract and delivery via plane same day. It a lie and a huge scam. Luckily I found this site before I paid!

We found this website and we’re so excited. We filled out their online inquiry and they responded immediately. We were told to Zelle a payment and that we would receive a sales contract shortly after. That never happened. We called out the fraud and after numerous attempts to get our money back we are out $600. I was so upset with myself for letting my emotions of getting these pets for my daughter and failing to research this website first. Lesson learned. Just wanted to share to help others. This website is a total scam! Never got ferrets and never saw my $600 again!

My daughter found the Petland Ferrets website (www.petlandferrets.com). The website is very well done and very believable, complete with detailed ferret care pages, a blog, and a list of adoptable ferrets... all seemed good, except that they turned out to be a TOTAL scam. We emailed back and forth with this company for two weeks and finally decided to buy four ferrets from them for our montessori school. We sent $1200 via zelle (red flag #1). They asked for the payment to be broken up into two parts. Part one was sent to: [email protected] via Zelle and part two was sent to [email protected] also via Zelle. They said this is because the first account reached its monthly limit (red flag #2). The owner of this company appears to be Ogonnaya Ogudu (red flag #3) and they gave a fake address in San Antonio, TX 78201. We were a little concerned by their unsecure payment process (they said they couldn't afford the Pay Pal fees as a small business, I can understand that). Also concerning was the African names (they said that they are Arican American and descendants of slaves, ok we are happy to support African American run businesses.) But they put our minds to rest assuring that they are a trustyworthy, family business that cares about these animals and would never prey upon people's love for pets... Well, they got me.

In the end, after we sent $1200 our new pets never arrived. A man with an African accent called me (and emailed) on shipping day from the company www.movers-mx.com to say that we needed to Zelle them $2000 more to a third email address in order to upgrade the crate to a temperature-controlled electronic crate. They said they would refund this money to us as soon as the animals were delivered... We had obviously been scammed. So sad. We have children crying their eyes out now because they had been waiting so patiently for the arrival of their new furry friends. Now we have to figure out how to get our money back and how to end these scammers for good so they never steal from anyone else again. I really appreciate your help in spreading the word about this fraudulent business.
