Today I received a phone call from a company called AR services calling on behalf of personal cash USA. They were attempting to collect a debt for a loan they said we took out in 2018. We supposedly owed $338. They said they had sent multiple pieces of mail to us over the last few years. We have never received mail from this company or any type of email or phone call until today. They had all my information and gave me two different references I had put down on the application. Both names were names I had never heard of. The man told me that sometimes the loan offices will accidently put their names there in the reference columns for the loans to go through. What!!! They told me I could pay the $338 or have a judgment be put against me and go to court and then owe personal cash $1500. I told them I would get my own lawyer and they said they would be sending a summons soon. I have never taken out a loan from these people and it’s not on my credit report. They did tell me that they will make sure this judgment goes on my report. I have never received a piece of mail or one phone call until today. The loan was supposedly taken out 7 years ago!
