Invoiced for $999.99 Scammer may have BCC’d me in an email claiming Apple and Florida Public Benefit Corporation has sent an invoice and if I do not act the money would be removed from my account automatically. I always check the To: and From: fields when I receive emails that want me to log into things. I noticed the email was showing sent to “[email protected]” The email itself when hovering over the links shows as if it’s a legitimate paypal site. However, the scam is most likely rooted in you attempting to log in via the wrong link or calling their number so they can get you to download some malware and control your computer. Always check the To: and From: fields and never directly open any links from your email. Always use the normal avenues of accessing your financial accounts and calling your bank directly from the number on your card or searching yourself.

received email that stated it was from PayPal for a booking gun order in the amount of $448.88. i called and said i did not authorize this transaction. my call was routed overseas he stated his name was David Williams and he clearly was not David Williams as he had a heavy accent when he spoke, and you could hear another person next to him handling a call also. asked him to send me an email to confirm the order had been canceled and he never did. he also told me the money was taken out of my account already, but when i checked it had not been taken out of my account. i looked up the customer service phone number to PayPal and called it and made a formal complaint about the situation and received and email and text right away that they suspended my PayPal and to login and change my password which is what i did and someone from PayPal is to reach out to me by 9/21/24

The telephone number provided is very similar to one listed in ScamPulse.com Scam Report #835149, another phishing attempt pretending to alert the target about a Norton billing statement. I forwarded the phony email to [email protected], did not attempt to call or reply to the scammer.

Received email stating that a purchase had been made with my PayPal account. I called the number on the email. The guy told me that I needed to be Infront of my computer so he could verify the information. I told him I was not able to do that. He told me he would call back in a hour. I called PayPal from the number on my statement and verified that it is a scam email. The caller tried calling me back 2 different times at phone number I listed. The phone number on the email is 805-201-2223, used the name Ben Davis.

I received an email from PayPal I thought claiming that I must pay this bill for $545. They threaten to take the payment yesterday. I called the number at the bottom of the page. He had me go to CVS and purchase 3 Target gift cards for $300 each. He claimed that the ScamPulse.com created my account with the $900 so wouldn’t have to use my own money. He asked me to use my Apple Card. My card was charged that $900. I called Apple to tell them what happened. They gave me back the money for now but they have to investigate this so they might take the money back if they don’t get the information they seek

Didn’t respond or click any links in the email, since that would expose my personal confidential info.

Phising scam contacting my Grandma pretending to be paypal by claiming a large transaction was made and providing the phone number 1(844)408-3884 to contact for further information

- Eugene, OR, USA

Called customer service of what I thought was PayPal. Rep said my inquiry about fraudulent email money request she could help me with. She asked questions about my linked bank acct and was hard to understand, as she was, I thought, in India. She kept me on phone for at least an hour. Sent me $ amounts to verify my bank acct. She wanted me to sign into my bank acct. She had me download an app giving her access to my phone to help the process. In the end, she had added a linked unfamiliar bank to my acct, and retrieved all my banking info, plus all info on my debit card

She had me enter this email in fields from my phone.

[email protected]

She told me to stay out of my PayPal acct. For 48 hrs. As they worked thru issue.

She said I will call you from this number, 260-268-6376.

She then sent a text from that number to my phone.

- Olympia, WA, USA

A phone call came through 14 times; one every minute. Whoever it was kept switching the phone numbers when I refused to answer. When I did answer it was a computer say someone tried to change my paypal account password.

I was sent an email with an attached invoice from "Paypal" for just under $1000 with phone number 1 (888) 273-5986 (which I called because I don't have an account with Paypal) and was told it was the phone number to a resort in West Virginia. The email address that supposedly sent this invoice was [email protected].

Two emails within two days of each other with two different supposed purchase invoices from PayPal.

- Vancouver, WA, USA

Receieved an email with an invoice attached that looks to be from PayPal stating "A fraudulent PayPal account transaction was identified.

If you don't want to proceed with this transaction, please contact us at +1(888) 712-3320." I don't have a PayPal account so I know this is not me.

- Boise, ID, USA

I received an email from Paypal with an invoice indicating I had purchased a micro compact mini from Springfield Armory for $799.99 with invoice #PPP09904863

Invoice had: if you have any questions about this invoice, please contact 1 801 828-3316.

This is not the phone number for Springfield Armory listed on their website. I did call the 801 number listed on the invoice, but hung up immediately when the phone was answered by someone with a foreign accent. This appears to be a phishing scam

- Aurora, CO, USA
