The company that I work for recently (within the last four years) registered their company name as a trademark and we were informed recently that the five year "proof of use" period was about to come up. Today we received a letter from this organization that says they would help with our trademark filing because it's about to "expire" at the cost of $925 plus $325 for each additional filing. Not only was their information about our trademark inaccurate but suggesting that the trademark would be "lost" if we didn't send them the $925 in the next four days also suggested fraud, and the "graphic representation" was also incorrect. Additionally the address they listed seems to be for a law firm rather than their company, which they spelled two different ways on the form.
