The Scammers list themselves as American Airlines with a contact number of 1-800-433-7800. The actual American Airlines number is 1-800-433-7300. I accidently called the number ending in 7800 and an agent claiming to work for American Airlines answered. He made a reservation for me through Spirit Airlines instead of American Airlines. I asked why he booked me for Spirit Airlines when I clearly wanted my sons to travel on an American Airlines flight. He said Spirit Airlines was partnered with American Airlines. The agent charged my Bank of America credit card $766.00 for the Spirit Airline flight reservation. However, he never disclosed he was actually a travel agent company called Fanbasis or Fan basis. I then realized my Bank of America credit card had been charged $398.97 to Spirit Airlines and then had a $367.03 charge made out to Fanbasis via sending me a second link via text and claiming not all the payment in the amount of $766 had processed. I called Spirit Airlines to confirm the flight reservation was legit. Spirit Airlines said the flight was legit. However, I could have contacted them directly and saved the $367.03 charge to Fanbasis. I thought I was dealing with an American Airlines from the beginning and ended up having to have my sons travel through Spirit Airlines instead. Fan Basis is utilizing the name of a legitimate airline, books a reservation with a competitor airline, and pockets the difference for booking the airline flight without the customer's knowledge. Please investigate and stop this fraudulent scammer. Note, Fanbasis billing reflects as a travel booking company on the billing statement, but it also reflects as a Digital Goods-Media, Books, Movies, Music company under the merchant description of the credit card statement.
