I received an email from this company to convert my book into a screenplay to pitch to a movie studio. The interaction sounded legitimate especially when the contract stated that my investment was 100% refundable if the pitch didn’t pan out. I’ve received a lot of emails to send money, but never for a guaranteed refund in a contract. I sent the funds, amd then the fun began. Reservations were made with a hotel in Culver City with a date of a scheduled meeting with Amazon Studios. I even checked with the hotel and there was a reservation in my name for the dates of the meeting. Suddenly, everything fell through, and I requested my money back due to breach of contract. Received emails that money was enroute. Days went by, and nothing. That’s when I realized the scam was on. Just today, I received an email from the rep I dealt with. He was so apologetic and even said he’d provide me with info to help get my money back from them through PayPal. I won’t hold my breath, but I filed a claim with PayPal anyway. Stay tuned. We all play the fool sometime.
