I was offered a used Bernina sewing machine from an art client. She lives in Ohio and wanted someone from the River Arts District to benefit, since we expeienced a great loss during Hurricane Helene. She wanted to use "Parcel Delivery Go" and would not accept my Fed EX or UPS number since it was an expensive and delicate machine. The cost was $180 upfront. I have NEVER paid that much for shipping, but I decided this was worth the security. The machine was shipped with tracking, but the company contacted me when it was in town to pay a $210 GAS and Storage surcharge. I was very upset and should have halted all payment at this point, but I know gas is expensive and I couldn't get the company to lessen the charge, so I foolishly sent it. I thought, well, it should be on the porch next delivery. No. Still don't have it weeks later. They are now saying there is an additional charge of $192 for "signature confirmation." I will not be paying this or any other charge. NO sewing machine. out $180 plus $210 FOR NOTHING.
