Got an email regarding a remote data entry job offer. Followed through with steps. Made contact on Microsoft Teams for HR and was talking to them and the "co founder" via email. I did a "text based" interview in Teams, and then the next day had a phone interview that was ten minutes long. Not long after got an email stating they were offering me the job. Then the days following they asked me for ID, W4, direct deposit info, etc. After that I was contacted on teams for onboarding. They then explained about sending me a check so I could get my equipment. They were adamant that that was the only way. Immediately knew I had been scammed and stopped talking to them. Had to close my bank account before they attempted to take anything as they had my SSC, ID, and now my account number and routing number.
