Was seeking help to get a past student loan forgiven and an individual was walking me paper work and said they needed a payment and broke it down into 3 payments and asked for my ID number. Now I'm scared.

I was contacted by the company via telephone. They said I was “pre-qualified” to receive student loan forgiveness. We went over the basics, such as income, family size, etc. then I was told my payments would be $347 times 2. Then my payment plan was $0.00 for 240 months. I would have to “recertify” annually. To send me the documents to review I had to give debit card info and schedule my first two payments.

I was asked to access my email while we were on the phone. She “walked me thru” and wanted me to go ahead and e-sign. I informed her that I would need to review them first before signing. She talked fast and asked that I review and sign ASAP and get back to her immediately. Upon much research, I discovered that this company is a fraud and that no one should be charging u a fee to see if u qualify for student loan forgiveness and that qualifications process takes a while. It’s not something someone can tell u immediately. She kept calling me the next day and was very rude. Said that they were audited by the department of education. My friend told her she had the wrong number and she started texting very unprofessionally saying If they wanted to do something they could because they already had all my info.
