They call often "claiming" a computer problem, take control, do somestuff then say its OK. cost me $198.Sometimes it takes upwords of of one and a half hours. I have talked to a person named ' DAVID' or "HARVY". The thing . is they both sound like the same person

My PC was hijacked with a loud message that my IP address was disabled. I contacted my internet provider and they were not available. I also have internet security and the Geek Squad. Again they were not available.
I then called the 800 number on my screen and got a technician named "Henry" He told me he was with Microsoft. I asked loads of questions and he showed me the windows icon. He gave me some helpful hints and "cleaned" my PC. The cost was $234 and he then told me that the billing would be Opticom. I had further questions and he said he was an authorized subcontractor for Microsoft.
He even got indignant with so many questions. I said I had to be sure and he calmed down.
After the call I looked up Opticom and found the scam. I called my bank and reported the fraud and cancelled my card. I then was lucky enough to get the Geek Squad online as they were not taking inhouse repairs. It took the technicians over 5 Hours to clean the virus that had been put on my PC. There was some deep coding at various levels on my PC.
Never call a number that has been provided to you for issues like this or banking. You be proactive and call them.

I was on a website and they sent me an email on behalf of Apple stating I had a virus and I had to pay this to fix it. I didn't think it was a scam because I could not do any web pages because they froze them. My wife called them back and said I will report you and they offer to pay the money back as long as we wouldn't tell. However they have my credit card info.
