Woman has been contacting me several times from the same number. Last week, I told her I was too busy (working from home) and to call back. Today, I gave her the time of day and she had a speech about my home (had all of the details: my address and my name where there was 'no additional cost' to me where a series of services would be performed for free (how is that possible?). I told her I would not confirm or provide any personal details without knowing if this was a legitimate call. I asked her for a website or something to reference. She told me that no personal information would be asked (joke - but I went along with it to see how far this would go). She provided a secure 7-digit reference number (secure would mean it was computer issued not verbally given to me) letting me know this number would be used for any services or maintenance or repairs of my home at no cost to me. Then she wanted my banking information (chequing or saving account) so they can deposit the carbon tax credit to my account. I reminded her she told me that there would be no personal questions asked and asked her to mail a cheque. She told me it wasn't possible. I asked her to give me a website where I could submit the request for the cheque, she told me to go to warrantyontario.com (an unsecure website) and hung up.
