I just received a text from them out of the blue. He said that he got my phone number from offer up (1st lie). Then, he said that I needed to send him a copy of the title and sticker info via email or text, (2nd lie). Clearly this is a SCAM ARTIST in the flesh. Please be aware of this coward and don't fall for the Okee-doke...

Same thing happened to me

I had a text msg from this number +1 (213) 503-6241, this person said he is interested in buying my car posted on the craigslist. I looked up his phone number to check if he is real, and thanks for the scam alert here, I blocked this man. Thank you.

I just listed my motorcycle on Craigslist yesterday and just as I suspected, I've been contacted by someone saying he definitely will buy my motorcycle but first I need to run a car audit ($27). I agree with the other comments: These "interested buyers" are actually commissioned agents who have NO INTENTION of buying the vehicle listed It is a waste of every seller's time, but more importantly it is a business whose foundation is 100% LIES. Run an ad to sell a car and you will see what I mean. This guy is persistent.

Probably thousands of cars per day are listed on Craigslist. These "interested buyers" are actually commissioned agents who have NO INTENTION of buying the car, (in my case a 2002 Volvo V70XC) but rather telling their boss to be looking for a report being run on a 2002 Volvo V70XC at which point they get a portion of the $27. It is a waste of every seller's time, but more importantly it is a business whose foundation is 100% LIES. Run an ad to sell a car and you will see what I mean. This guy is persistent. Please do your part to shut these scammers down. Thank you.
