Online Tutoring Scam

Tutoring threatening to email my school after told them their services are no longer needed. They asked for nearly 1000 after I paid them the initial 400 dollars. They did absolutely nothing. This is plain and simple extortion

My daughter is enrolled into the criminal justice program with SPC, she is doing 2 years of college with them and 2 years with FAMU. She is a very smart girl, has been an honor roll student literally every grading period since the 2nd grade. She has always had High expectations for herself. GPA has been maintained since she began High school. She recently reached out to some people that she thought was a tutoring company. Find out they have got to be scammers. They offered to help her. She is very book smart, but, She is very Naïve to other things. She let them talk her into giving them her log in for her SPC account.

Anyway she ended up having to tell them she will have to pause on the tutoring services because we ran into an issue with her car and she is now out of $5000 dollars. So she had to tell them she doesn't have any money to continue. They are now saying she still has to pay for prep services. She told them, "well I don't have any money". They are now threatening to send an email to her professor making it look like student misconduct. I am just getting filled in about what's going on. She wants to be so independent, she never told me anything until now because they have threatened her to give them $1500 for doing nothing or they will send the email to her professor for student misconduct and she will get kicked out. Please tell me what we should do from here. She has been crying everyday and worried about her career moving forward. My daughter has never been in trouble and has been dedicated to her future career since she was in the 5th grade. The work they were suppose to help her with; she ended up just submitting her work without help.
