Online Retailer - Fake Giveaway Scam Reports & Reviews (2)

I saw a video on Facebook that claimed that Kawasaki was doing a giveaway for the 2023 model year Kawasaki kx450 to make room for the 2024 models. I would like to state that the allotted time ( 5-7 days ) for delivery hasn’t expired yet so it may not be but more than likely is a scam. I was just doing some research today that I previously wasn’t able to do. Upon my search I found this article showing the scammers email address and website. The website that is shown in this article is “epicprizedeal.com” but the website that I was on for my situation is “shoptowindeals.com” so it is different, however, more than likely a scam. I will wait out the next 7 days to see if they actually send me the dirt bike that they claimed I won or if they send me anything at all. I will update my post and let everyone know what the end result is in 7 days.

I went to a website advertising a contest for a prize giveaway of electronics equipment. I did an online lottery game and was advised that I won an item. All I had to do was pay $9 shipping and handling. I submitted the cost for shipping and handling using my credit card. I provided my email address, but the company never emailed me a receipt for the purchase. When I looked at the credit card statement the following day, I saw the alleged $9 shipping and handling charges PLUS and additional charge of $129 for some crystalized toothpaste powder that I didn't order. I called my credit card company, and they verified that that was indeed a scammer. I had to report it to the fraud department, freeze my account, cancel my credit card and now I have to wait for them to issue me a new card. Then, I have to formally dispute the charges through their fraud department.
