Online Purchase Scam Reports & Reviews – Page 14 (601)

I attempted to purchase a washer/dryer set through Facebook marketplace. Originally, I was asked to put half the cost down as a deposit to get on the delivery schedule. The next morning I was emailed but "Sales Info" by the included email demanding an "Insurance coverage" payment of an additional $250 despite specifically denying the additional cost. The address given to pick up the appliances was visited by local law enforcement and found to be a storage warehouse with very old appliances. The contact supplies a multitude of stock images even when asked to provide a picture with the current date written on a piece of paper with the items to be delivered. I have filed a report with the local authorities as well as the authorities located close to the contacts digital signatures. In further forensics I have found that this group is highly active and scamming a multitude of people.

My wife "shops" on Marketplace. She expressed interest in purchasing a 36" Blackstone Grill for $30 (first scam alert!). The seller (Karen Parody who had a profile we checked) asked for a phone number to make sure ***** was "real" (***** doesn't use FB except to shop Marketplace). I questioned it, but was persuaded and gave "Karen" my cell phone number (***** doesn't use a smart phone). "Karen" send a code (with Google Voice LInk). I returned the code; she said she couldn't verify that number and would I send another. I realized my error at that point and reported the listing and blocked this seller on ******* PC. I reported the text I'd received and deleted it. ARHG.

The online site offers products for sale. Once purchased a promise of a confirmation email and emailed tracking info is supposed to follow. I received a confirmation email however, after several attempts of seeking tracking info I received no response and no tracking info. In addition I never received the item ordered.

This website is a scam. It advertises that it is a free QR code generator, and when you create it, signs you up for a free trial. After a time, they let you know that the QR codes you have generated will not work after their trial, which ends after 7 days. They make you pay AT LEAST $120 in order to keep the QR code working. Many people have fallen into their trap, as seen on this reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/weddingplanning/comments/1bxxh02/warning_to_my_fellow_w... They do not advertise that the QR codes generated during the free trial will stop working, or let the customer know at all until it is too late and the customer has already ordered and paid for the items in print they plan to use the QR code for. Please help to get them shut down so they cannot use their predatory practices on anyone else.

They provided tracking info. It said the package was delivered. I was here when it said it was delivered and I contacted them. They did respond and said they needed 3-5 business days to look into it. They did not contact me back. After 5 business days I emailed them again and they said the package must have been stolen because the tracking info said it was delivered. I responded that I was here the whole time as I am off of work right now on medical leave and have had many packages delivered and not one has been stolen. I told them this is clearly a scam and that I was contacting you. I care more about stopping the scam than getting back $50

I thought I was buying the product that Kelly Clarkson used to loose weight. Went online to a website ordered the product but that transaction was not approved. Went back online tried again to buy, then I get a message that my order was approved, so I went to the message, it said my total price was 199.98. I then wrote back to them cancel my order. That didn't work.

My husband is looking to purchase a shipping container for storage and found an ad on Facebook Marketplace with a good price for once-used products/containers. He used Messenger to communicate with the person at first. My husband gave them our home address and his cell number for 'pricing' reasons. Next, the seller asked for a $500 deposit via a wire transfer, which seemed a bit extreme for a simple purchase. The seller continued to point out that this purchase includes sales taxes to be reported, etc. Taxes are usually assumed and not something that needs to be pointed out to the purchaser. My husband inquired about possibly picking the container up personally to save money since he is a truck driver, but the seller would not allow this option and when asked, gave another company's name that they 'work with', called 'Storm-Specialties Containers, LLC' (online only), although the seller's Facebook profile pic shows a man in front of a USDOT truck with the company listed as 'PARISI CONSTRUCTION LLC' (from WI), which does not advertise container sales as part of their business. I told my husband that too many things are questionable, especially the wire transfer payment request. We decided not to pursue the potential scammer without verification. ScamPulse.com does not list either of these businesses or the seller's name, which is listed as 'Alex Jimmy'. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

falsly advertising products at a good deal, but then trying to make a paypal payment directly to their individual acct. several shell websites created under the same LLC

I ordered and purchased 4 pieces of athletic wear on line and paid by credit card. I received an email the same day from a no-reply address stating the following:

Thank you for your order. We are currently processing your payment. We will notify you once it’s completed. Voucher number: a2e157af31a75ff27760cc822aa571

A few days later I received a tracking number, etc. The parcel never arrived and I emailed several more times, each time getting a reply that said the order was delayed and would come soon. It never came even after the tracking service said it was delivered and signed for! I continued to email the company who said they would resend, etc, but again nothing ever came. Finally, I requested a full refund which they agreed to but it never came either. They replied to my emails a number of times saying their financial department was slow and refund would arrive any day - it never did.

- Duncan, OK, USA

Ordered Stanley tumbler and never received my order. No response when I emailed customer service.

- Bradenton, FL, USA

Received products (two flashlights) that were not the products that were advertised. Packaging appearance (damaged), product appearance and performance all very poor and not what was advertised. Upon asking for a refund including comparison pictures sent, I was told that they could not honor a return and that I received what I ordered. While it is not a lot of money, I lost $44.97 and have a product I can't use. I first saw the Ad on Facebook, looked up information on the seller which had good ratings, and I placed my order. It came from China and arrived 18 days after purchase, with much dissatisfaction regarding the product and the fact that they kept my money without resolution.
