I stupidly clicked on an ad (shown on Reddit) for what was supposedly a going-out-of-business jewelry sale. I thought I would be getting nice costume jewelry; what I got was cheap plastic junk that only vaguely resembled the jewelry shown on the website. (I now suspect that the image shown on the website was AI generated.) Revisiting the website ten days later, it is clear that they are always "going out of business" and down to their last few items--a pressure tactic that, like an [censored], I fell for. A few hiccups in the English on the website makes me suspect that the scammers are not based in the US, although the trash "jewelry" that I received apparently shipped from a location in Jamaica, NY.

The website is www.sophie-ellington.com. Long story short, they are scammers who falsely represent the garbage they are actually selling, and nobody should do business with them.
