Type of a scam Online Purchase
The day before the event, information was released that attendees would have to take a shuttle to the mansion, this was not communicated at the time of ticket purchase. On the day of the event, only 15–20 people were able to board the shuttle due to extreme under-preparation. When those attendees arrived at the mansion, they discovered that the entire party had been shut down and canceled due to the promoter not having a valid party permit.
The promoter then went online and claimed—without proof—that the homeowner owed $20,000 in fines, shifting blame instead of taking accountability. This contradicts earlier information that he had planned the event and booked the venue. From what many of us now believe, he likely rented the house through Airbnb or a similar service without disclosing it would be used for a large public event, and did not get the required permits.
When attendees began asking for refunds, he mocked, insulted, and cursed people out on social media. He posted a half-hearted “apology” to his story but made it clear that he was not issuing refunds, nor was there a backup plan for the canceled event.
This was a blatant scam—it took people’s money for a service that never existed in a legally viable form, then attempted to dodge responsibility with lies and aggression. Many people, including myself, feel misled, disrespected, and taken advantage of. There needs to be formal accountability for this.
