I hired this company to install a garage door opener at my home in RI. I paid via Zelle, after I was told they didn’t take checks and would up charge for CC. The Zelle was his private account not a company. The invoice didn’t specify exactly what the “10 year guarantee entitled” there was no address or company name on the invoice and when I asked about the provided email and number on the invoice (which neither work) I was told not to worry about it and to call this number (888) 260-3339 if I needed any service. The installer arrived in a vehicle with a Massachusetts plates, no company car.

The work was unsafe and unacceptable — the electrical wiring was left exposed, with no junction box or wire nuts, creating a fire and shock hazard. When I asked for a business name, license, or address, I was told they had “no address” because they are a mobile service, when asked for the supervisor’s name, one was not provided and was told “it changes depending who’s out in the field”.
Once I mentioned getting the BBB involved I got a phone call from whom installed the opener and we exchanged texts where he told me that the exposed wire was no big deal and not to worry about it. For $2000 work and to later find out the parts alone was just $200 it’s unprofessional to leave such lousy job.

I have reported this to the Rhode Island Contractors’ Board and Attorney General In my recent experience with a garage door opener installation company in Rhode Island, I encountered several concerning issues that warrant professional attention.

Initially, I paid for the installation via Zelle, informed that checks were not accepted and that credit card charges would be incurred. However, the payment was processed to a private account rather than the company’s registered account. The invoice provided no specific details about the “10-year guarantee” offered, nor did it include the company’s address or contact information.

When I inquired about the provided email and phone number on the invoice, which were both non-functional, I was advised to contact the company’s designated number, (888) 260-3339, for any service-related inquiries. Unfortunately, the installer arrived at my home in a vehicle with a Massachusetts license plate, indicating that they did not use a company-owned vehicle.

The installation process was unsafe and unacceptable. The electrical wiring was left exposed, lacking junction boxes and wire nuts, posing a significant fire and shock hazard. Despite my requests for the company’s business name, license, and address, I was informed that they were a mobile service and had “no address.” Similarly, when asked for the supervisor’s name, it was not provided, and it was stated that it varied depending on the individual field worker.

Upon expressing my intention to involve the Better Business Bureau (BBB), I received a phone call from the installer. During our subsequent text conversations, he downplayed the significance of the exposed wire, dismissing it as a minor issue. Furthermore, I discovered that the cost of the installation was $2000, while the parts alone were only $200. This discrepancy raises serious concerns about the company’s professionalism and the quality of work provided.

In light of these issues, I have reported the matter to the Rhode Island Contractors’ Board and the Attorney General for further investigation. This incident serves as a cautionary tale for consumers, emphasizing the importance of exercising extreme caution and verifying the licensing of any service provider before hiring them.
for investigation. Consumers should use extreme caution and verify licensing before hiring.

I recently contacted a company I found through a good search for garage door repair near me and was sent to Olympusgaragedoorrepair.com
Website looks legit Sven with yelp rewiews posted. Sent in a contact form and was contacted within the hour to set up a free estimate. Came to the house and decided that I needed new springs. They quoted me 1300 for the springs . After installing they told me they had to install bearings and had already done so for 115. Once it was time to pay the bill after it was said and done it was over 3000! He insisted that the price he quotes me for the springs was for only one spring not two which he never told me! Service was completed and works fine but felt I could not refuse and they completed their service and installation. I am single woman and feel like I most definitely got taken advantage of. Number that initially contacted me was 888-260-3339 and a local service number of the technician was 970-517-5022

Same thing with me

- Englewood, CO, USA

I used a Google sponsored ad for a 24/7 garage door repair. The operator asked me for some information (first name, phone number) and told me it would be $20 for a tech to come out. A tech called me about 2 minutes later and came to my location. Their truck was unmarked and the person was very rude. They looked at my garage motor and quoted me $850 to repair my motor. I declined service and the person got upset and left visibly angry. I tried to go to their site and leave a review but they are nowhere to be found on google (street address-wise) and there is nowhere to leave a review.
