I received a Phishing email claiming to be a Final Notice of collection from NovaCare Rehabilitation - Odenton (a physical rehabilitation office I was a patient at a couple of months ago). The email itself had all the indicators of a phishing email, grammatical errors and typos. I did call the rehab office to confirm that my insurance had covered everything. Per their records, I was all paid up and had zero outstanding balances. I did ask them to confirm some of the information in the email, such as the phone number listed for the billing office. They confirmed the number provided was not from their billing office. Additionally, they indicated they never email billing inquiries. All billing is handled via regular mail.

Tomorrow I will contact the billing office with the actual phone number to confirm everything. Still, I want people to know that if you were/are a patient at NovaCare Rehabilitation and receive a similar email, DO NOT CLICK ANY LINKS! Call them up to confirm if you have any billing issues or outstanding balances. The woman I spoke with from NovaCare was accommodating and legitimately concerned a phishing email was sent.
