In short received an offer to an interview by text. Then I was directed to Zoom. However while speaking by text no video on zoom I searched and found this website. Same scam different name. I was also told we will email you a check and you print it and mobile deposit it. LOL I think not. This scam is exactly as described above by Briya93. The funny part is I knew it was a scam when I was asked when do I want to get paid weekly or biweekly. Yeah ok since when do companies ask you how to pay you. Also I was told I was hired for the position...which position? It was so lame but I was silly enough to entertain it. #whenBoredomStrikes.

I was on LinkedIn and they reached out to me. They were sending me package with a check inside to deposit into my ATM bank account. This is a scam.

Georg Cole, supposedly CIO of SHV Holdings contacted me by text saying that his HR Dept. found me on LinkedIn and they were interested in interviewing me by Skype. I downloaded Skype and he had me link up with [email protected] so I had the "interview" with Mr. Bailey and he told me all about SHV Holdings - much of which I read on their company website - and I asked me a series of questions that sounded legit. He then
"forwarded our conversation to the Head Dept. to enable them see if I am committed and good for this job" and had me hold for 7-10 minutes. He then came back and told me congratulations you have been offered the job position. Here's the kicker!
Per Mr. Bailey the company will provide me with an Apple MacBook Laptop with a fast internet connection and will be sending me a check for the purchase of my working materials from the vendor from whom I will be making the purchase plus $500 for a sign on bonus. I asked why they don't just send the software to me instead of me having to buy it - he said his company "do not deal with the softwares" I told him I didn't feel comfortable with depositing their check in my account and would only do it if I would be able to wait until the check clears to purchase anything. He said they only issue certified checks. Then he said all they need from me is good work and trust.
I have a strong feeling I am being scammed - it's coincidental that so many things sound similar to the above scams!

Type of Scam: PT Employment (Remote Call Center)

I PERMANENTLY Removed my Resume from several Employment Sites; which included my Personal Info. Too Many SCAMMERS!

Mr. Steve Bailey/Dept. Head; TRIED UNSUCCESSFULLY TO SCAM Me on a FAKE JOB, yesterday Monday Sept 27th @ approx 10:45am.! BOLD AS H._ _!

I applied for "PT Remote Call Center Rep." This So-Called
Mr. Bailey A -Hole hole had the FN NERVE to WASTE my GD Time on a FAKE Azz online Interview via WhatsApp/Skype for 1.5hrs 10:45-11:15am EST!

Ms. Mary Edwards; Claimed to be from HR: However she had an Email Address at "Developmental Rehab Svcs" DUMB Azz! This person contacted me via Email!
Job Seekers . .BEWARE!

Mr. Fake Azz Bailey; Claimed I'd be making $49.89 an hr; $25.or so while on a 1 Wk Training! Here's the catch. . . they'd send me a Check via Mail & I was to purchase my Work Supplies. However, they'd send me a Mac Notebook. . .WTF! Red Flag! . .Who does that?!? Why not send me all my Supplies at ONCE?!? These People have NO FN Logic. . .& or ONLY have a 3rd Grade Education!

In addition; this person asked me how'd I like to get paid (Bank Deposit/Wire/Debit Debit Card Transfer or Check). I said Check LOL!

These DUMB Azzes had NO CLUE my background was BANKING!

AGAIN JOB SEEKERS BEWARE!

No Longer interested in Posting via Employer Sites. These Companies NEED to SCREEN so calleed EMPLOYERS BETTER!

I've contacted the local Police Dept.

An individual calling himself Steve Bailey reached out indicating he was interested in hiring me for a job at Novabase. All interviews were conducted via Skype messenger. He would not provide a corporate phone number, address or HR partner name. No screening was required for "start up" and no employment contract was provided prior to sending me a check for $4366.00 for "start up" money. He also indicated he would be sending business business equipment. The check is drawn on Bank of America payable to me using my personal address as Novabase's business address. The signature is chicken scratch not resembling any of the individual names provided. The "interviewer" name does not match the email address or signature. Novabase indicates no one by the names provided work for their company. Be ware.

Initially I received an email from supposedly a zip recruiter employee but he had a Gmail email address. The email had instructions to contact somebody via Skype or wire these are two apps that they use to interview people, also the email included their user contact the company name is nova base which is a Portuguese company supposedly. I went on to sign up with Skype and had an interview for the job position they offer me $49.89 an hour. They went and ask me information about my bank but I did not give it to them so they decided to send me a check. However they agreed to send me a check and buy some sort of software‘s Required for the position they told me to keep $150 into use the rest on the purchasing of the software. He gave me instructions to deposit the check through an ATM and to send back the card the copy of the deposit from the ATM. They also asked for my log in information on my phone carrier,and that’s why I raise a red flag, also why raise the flag is that I never sign in agreement to be higher I went to long to see it was legitimate or not but after talking to ******** from BBB. I decided to file a scam report please see attached pictures that are based on a conversation on Skype with the hiring manager
