I had applied to the position for Data Entry Clerk, remote for BJC Healthcare. About a week later I received the below email. I downloaded the chat portal, this wasn't odd to me since my last job had it's own way of messaging and such due to being a remote position as well. I chatted with the person who let me know the job description and had me take an interview assessment. Several hours later she messaged me back and let me know I was selected for the position and we would complete the next steps on Monday (this was a Saturday afternoon which I found odd but being desperate for work didn't think much on it as I know some HR people do work weekends and since this is supposedly a major healthcare facility it wasn't that odd.) Monday rolls around she tells me they're going to send me an e-check so I can get my equipment needed for the job, again didn't seem too suspicious because it's healthcare and needs hipaa required systems. I filled out the bank account information already in onboarding for direct deposit. They emailed me an e-check in the amount of $2490.00 to which i then took a picture of and uploaded to my banking app. Bank sends email that it was approved and I should see the funds in 1-2 business days. I check my bank account yesterday it's negative for the same amount they sent. I check again about an hour ago, and it's back to the measly 38.00 I had in there before which leads me to believe the check was fake and this was a scam. Yet every single email and correspondence they sent looked absolutely legit. I started googling their names and every single one came up listed under already being reported here as a scam. I feel absolutely sick and heartbroken because I desperately needed this job and already about to lose everything I have since I've been out of work since February.
