SCAM

I was contacted for a remote Customer Service job, all conversations were via Teams text (weird) I was told to be available today for another text chat and further detail. I then received a phone call from what sounded like it could be AI. They informed me they were sending me a check for software and equipment. The check was sent via UPS yesterday even before I was hired or accepted a position. They are asking me to deposit the check and send them a copy of my deposit slip,...NO SIR! SCAM ALERT

I was contacted because I was looking for a remote position to work from home. They told me they had a customer service representative position available. I said I was interested. I was then told to down load Skype. Then he told me that I would receive a check in the mail. Which I did the very next day. I had a hunch something was not right because there was only 8 routing numbers when there is supposed to be 9. So I called Florida central bank to confirm it was fraudulent and it was. But what he wanted me to do was deposit it then take a picture of my deposit slip “for their records” and send him that picture. I have not done so. Am not going to do so. Thank you

I was contacted for a remote work from home position through a text message. I was asked to download zoom on my phone and give the interviewer on zoom and interview code. They said that they would be sending all of the equipment needed for the role and would send a check to me to purchase it off of a website that they have a relationship with that provides all of the equipment needed. The company is a real company based out of Japan from what it looks like and they are using components of the company to make the scam more believable. They asked for my address, email, phone number, where I bank and my name. Please be careful.
