It has come to our attention that an individual, Mr. Nguyễn Văn Hậu, is engaged in a reprehensible and illegal scheme that targets individuals and entities with significant social media followings or verified pages on Facebook, operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as "Meta").
Mr. Nguyễn Văn Hậu, along with his associates, is posing as a representative of Meta and deceiving page owners or administrators into believing that their pages are violating Meta's community standards. They do this by sending false messages claiming to be warnings from Meta about these alleged violations. The recipients are then directed to click on a link provided to prevent their pages from being permanently closed.
Tragically, unsuspecting victims fall prey to this scheme, and by clicking on the link, the perpetrators gain unauthorized access to the pages as administrators. They then proceed to remove the legitimate administrators, effectively hijacking and stealing control of the pages. These stolen pages are subsequently trafficked on the black market, resulting in substantial financial losses and reputational damage to the original owners, who may include businesses, artists, musicians, and other content creators.
Furthermore, these cybercriminals have access to private and financial information through Meta Business, enabling them to commit identity theft and financial fraud. Their actions not only violate the trust and privacy of individuals but also undermine the integrity of the digital ecosystem and the hard work and dedication of legitimate page owners.
This behavior is unacceptable and must be met with the strongest condemnation. Mr. Nguyễn Văn Hậu and his accomplices must be held accountable for their actions, which constitute serious criminal offenses, including but not limited to fraud, identity theft, and unauthorized access to computer systems.
We urge Meta to take immediate and decisive action to investigate this matter thoroughly and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice. The public must be made aware of these fraudulent activities and take steps to protect themselves from falling victim to such scams.
We stand united against these malicious acts and call for justice to be served swiftly and decisively.
Furthermore, please note that if you are a buyer of trafficked and stolen pages, this will not be a profitable venture. Typically, Meta, the actual company, will detect and return the page to its rightful owners if it is reported. You will also be blacklisted, along with the primary cybercriminals, as you will be considered a criminal as well.
