Type of a scam Tech Support
On October 1st she was contacted to continue the subscription. She asked to have it cancelled. They said it would be cancelled as of Dec 2020. One week later she received an invoice for $1999 !!
An email was sent to restate the desire to cancel. No response another email was sent five days later. A phone call from the “company” came quickly.
After a one hour phone call, the representative said the only way she could get reimbursed was to pay her $2500, then she would need to refund their company!
Because the company has remote access of her computer, when okd We went forward for them to deposit the funds. Definitely a mistake. The rep “showed” the transfer to her account.
They then demanded that we go to Best Buy to purchase a gift card for the $500 overpayment.
I coo exited with Best Buy to learn about this fraudulent activity.
During this time we contacted the bank to freeze and close her banking account and online banking.
The representative was arrogant, threatened the current funds she had in her account.
We will be working with our Elder Services police dept rep to see what other options there are.
I hope we can shut this group down!
