Tried to research NCTUE online and everything seemed legit but they want SO much personal info. plus your first born chid that it seems WAY to sketchy. Plus there seems no way to speak to a human. Don't trust it. I don't want my excellent credit score to go down, but I feel like this company would compromise my personal finances or life.

Received bifold post card notification from NCTUE re CO law to notify of my rights to obtain a free data report from National Consumer Telecom & Utilities Exchange (NCTUE), a credit reporting agency (CRA). Searched online to determine if legit organization. Seems to be, however; I have called the toll free number listed on the post card 2 times, 2-1-2020 & 2-10-2020, followed prompts to receive report, only to get “automated system is unavailable, please call back”. I use auto pay, should have NO negative info on any reports, concerned someone using my personal info. Spoke with NCTUE rep today who wanted ALL my personal info. Did not provide. The card also indicates NCTUE is a member owned exchange managed by Equifax Information Systems. Spoke to Equifax, rep unfamiliar with NCTUE or affiliate with Equifax. ScamPulse.com complaints indicate other than legit company, I agree.

I received a letter in the mail that said I had a negative file on my Equifax credit report and that by law they had to send me a letter. It said to call the number to get a free report. After calling the number you are prompted for your social security number. After you provide your social security number it says the phone service is not working and that you should send your a picture of your social security number, drivers license, a list of addresses lived in the last 5 years, and a utility bill.

Received a postcard in the mail saying I have derogatory item on my credit. Tried contacting, but they want you to enter your SSN into an automated system. I pulled my 3 credit reports, nothing. No defamatory anything. No way to get around the automated system.

All the “possible” issues, none of these are on my credit report. They are outright lying trying to get more info.

Phone automaton doesn't work (conveniently)

They then want you to mail your info including photo copies of your ID, ss card, housing history over the last 5 years and current utility bills.

I read that ScamPulse.com issued a scam on them and to report it. They say that within the last 12 months a negative response has been put on your credit report and to call or fill out the form to get a copy of your credit report. They want your date of birth and social security number, which means that they now have your identity.
