Type of a scam Debt Collections

These people have been calling me since March 2018. They called about me owing $500 to Rogers wireless, a debt from 2008 that I know I paid off. I told them I would call them back and called Rogers to confirm for my own knowledge. Also asked them if they used NCRI as one of their collectors. They told me they have their own collections department and that I was probably being scammed. So I called the NCRI number back and told the person I was talking to that I had spoken with Rogers Wireless, that I owed nothing and that I wouldn't be paying anything to them. I have been receiving calls from them at least every week since march. They used to have 3 automated messages. One saying you owed them and to call them back right away. Second message was more urgent and said they might take action against you. Third was just them threatening that your file was going to court. Now they have actual people call to say that they need you to call them back or the file might ruin your credit. I am just so sick of them already. They use scare tatics or try to lower the amount you owe. Also asking them for proof of this so called debt makes them mad. And to my knowledge as well. Debt collectors can not collect on anything over 4-6 years old.
