The card inside the envelope is yellow and the writing is BUSINESS REPLY MAIL with a black border. It has a no postage necessary if mailed and the return address is the National Reply Center as described above. The text in the letter is the following: 2016 Benefit Information for Kentucky Citizens Only. You may qualify for a state-regulated program to pay for your final expenses regardless of your medical condition, even if you have been turned down before. It is important you know how to qualify for this benefit available to you. This benefit will pay 100% of all funeral expenses up to $35,000. This payment is tax-free for Kentucky residents. You are entitled to receive no-cost information as a resident of Kentucky. IMPORTANT - Return this postage-paid card within 5 days and receive a FREE WALMART GIFT CARD. Then is list YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS. The yellow card also has a section with NAME, HOME ADDRESS, PHONE, AGE, SPOUSE'S AGE, SPOUSE'S NAME listed for you to fill in. At the bottom of this yellow card it has written in small print: F01 - F01J Not affiliated with or endorsed by any government agency.
If this isn't a scam, it certainly sounds way too good to be true. If they are not affiliated with any government agency then where is all that money coming from? I am sure that many elderly and of course others will gladly return this card with their information in the belief they are going to somehow receive $35,000.00 for funeral expenses and a free Walmart Gift card.
