I was offered a position after they saw my resume on LinkedIn. They emailed me and all sounded legit, but I did my research and couldn't find much, so I decided to talk to them. My interview was done on Microsoft Teams and was over an hour long, no video by the way, only typing and computer use, no voice either. But i got all the work docs, filled them out. They tell me they are going to buy my stuff, but they end up sending me a check for $6,340.25 which is obviously fake, signatures don't match, numbers are different, it's basically scanned from a computer. My bank immediately declined it because it was a fake. I called my bank and did what I could to fix things, but they have my SSN, my banking info, and my address and birthday.

Dear K. Rempel, Thank you for reporting your experience. We are sorry this happened to you. This person is not from Mytonomy and is in no way affiliated with us. Although we do have an employee named Ryan at Mytonomy, the person who contacted you was using a gmail account rather than a Mytonomy account while they impersonate our employee. We have heard a similar story from a few other job seekers.

We have used every legal means we have to stop their actions by filing a multitude of complaints and reports to law enforcement and government agencies alerting them of these actions including the FBI and the FTC. We have also pushed to enforce our ownership of the Mytonomy trademark resulting in one domain being taken down. We filed a complaint with Microsoft in their use of our trademark on teams and outlook and a complaint with Google on their use of our trademark there. And, we have sent them multiple cease and desist orders to any email address that we know of that they have used in their scheme. In addition, we have included a notice of caution regarding these actions on our LinkedIn jobs page.

We encourage you to file reports with the FBI, FTC and your local law enforcement agencies, as we have.
