I accepted the invite and sat through their presentations. It appears to be a legitimate business opportunity to me. They are developing a new online social/commerce platform that works through local merchants. They are in user acquisition mode right now and recruiting territory owners. This comes in both a fee based and a free option. The fee based option is not as high as mentioned in other posts as they have re-evaluated their GTM. Any legitimate business opportunity requires some financial risk and I would have been more leery of it if it was all for "free>

At the end of the day I didn't sign up - not because I was concerned it was a scam but just because is wasn't the side hustle I was looking for. Hope this helps.

Sorry but they are a scam. How do I know? Because they scammed me! I lost over 5K and 3 months of my time.

The team of www.empowr.com scammers is now in the title of The Movement and site address as https://movement.college/
Same group of people, Same concepts with some few new scam technics.
They came again to cheat people in the name of the site as The Movement : https://movement.college/
WHY this change if they are GENUINE?
www.movement.college is 100% scam.

Received the same email as those mentioned above when I ignored and deleted their messages:

Are you coming to your scheduled call with Mike (co-founder of the Movement) to discuss the position/opportunity?

He just arrived to the call, and is looking forward to covering everything with you including mission, products, responsibilities and compensation (Base, Bonus and Ownership).

Clearly a total scam, continue to report.

I received the same automated emails noted above. I politely asked to be unsubscribed a couple times and also was scheduled without my consent for an informational meeting. When I didn't show up for it I received an email asking to reschedule.

I've blocked three different email accounts with this scam of a company and just receive another one from a different account including a different domain extension.

The Movement is a collaboration between technologists and top economists and political scientists from MIT, Yale, Duke, UC Berkeley, Princeton and Colombia universities.

It all started when the Movement's founders invented virtual currency, and then quietly spent nearly 2 decades inventing, building and testing everything else required to deliver a robust economy to every corner of the world, including (inventing and patenting

I don't know what this is supposed to be, but I'm certainly not going to input my information (email, name, and phone number) to get through and talk to someone. At best, I suspect it's a pyramid scheme, and at worst, I suspect it's employment fraud. The emails are obviously automated, because no legitimate company would try so hard to talk to a candidate that hasn't even expressed interest in working for them. The emails I received come from "Jeanine Mays" @movementscheduling.cloud.

I clicked through to the "scheduled call" using bogus registration info so I could find out what it was. It's a 90-minute recorded presentation which tries hard to convince you it's not a pyramid scheme or MLM opportunity, and then at the end, they ask you for lots and lots of money. $1,633, plus $183 per month. And they offer to give you lots of cryptocurrency without telling you what it is.

This company has been spamming all of my mailboxes. Whenever I reply and ask to be removed from their list, they automatically schedule an appointment using AcuityScheduling (not Acuity's fault). This company uses the following domain names:
executiveconsulting.pro, movement.college, execrecruiting.services, movementcalendar.info. They are violating CAN-SPAM laws by not making it easy to opt-out, so report them to the FTC.
Don't ask to be removed! They automatically schedule a phone call appointment.

I received an unsolicited email hyping an opportunity as follows:

Hello *****,

California tech firm is launching a highly-patented consumer product and is seeking someone with your pedigree.

They're willing to make it a territory grant for you; you would own it outright.

Approach so sophisticated; your work takes about five hours weekly but fantastic pay. Truly stunning workflow.

May I share details?

Laney McCall

Director, Talent Acquisition

Executive Recruiting Services

I responded "not interested" and then got several more emails saying they had set up a video call with the co-founder Mike P. I, of course, didn't ask for this call, nor did I attend. But I keep on getting more emails saying they've rescheduled my call - and then asking if I was getting on the call when the time came. Here's a sample of one of the emails:
