This man, Matthew/David Santana responded to my post on next-door about needing a handyman to rebuild our wooden deck. After meeting with him, he checked everything out, seemed very professional and knowledgeable about the work that needed to be done, and showed us photos of his previous work building things. He gave us a quote of $1200 and asked for half as deposit. We paid him $600 total on the Cash App. He showed up a couple of times and demolished our deck. After that he never came back. He evaded my phone calls and texts, or would sometimes give excuses such as being hungover or spending the day with his son. I always gave him a chance to come finish his work, but then he just stopped responding all together and never refunded the deposit money. I posted what happened on next-door with all the pictures of the mess he left, and I had two other people contact me saying that he did the same thing to them. Today I saw another post about him with almost the same story and other people also replied, saying he had done that to them. So he is a serial scam artist and is cheating many people in our city out of their hard earned money.
