They had me do tasks of data entry and said I would make $2 per entry, but I had to get up to $750 before I could cash out. When I hit $715, they said I needed to pay a one-time identity verification and tax compliance amount of $75. I had already sent my ID and other personal information to them.

Was told it was a data entry job from Maqdata.com and after completing tasks I then had to fill out a 1099 and pay 75 for the paperwork and then 120 for notary and release of funds then they wanted another 85 for a yubikey which I did not continue with

They from MaqData.com claim to be hiring sub contractors for data entry tasks but won't pay earnings. I believe they're collecting Soc Sec #'s etc. because, if I'm right, subcontractors don't need W-9 tax forms filled out, but they want W-9 forms completed.
