I applied for a personal loan online with Advance America. I believed I was actually interacting with a legitimate certified loan officer until I was notified that money was being withdrawn from my account instead of deposited. I realized then that I was being scammed. I started doing more research and found out Advance America had put out a disclaimer warning consumers of a loan scam in which their logo was being used to defraud consumers. Unfortunately for me I didn't do the research once I received the email from the "certified loan officer Michael Thompson" which would have avoided my personal information being compromised. These scammers are very clever. The loan documents and the website look legit until you dig deeper. They even used the address of a legitimate Advance America storefront as their business address. I have reported this to the FTC and ScamPulse. Hopefully I will be able to get back the money that was taken from my account and my identity back without further damage.
