Called our office stating that Konica was going to have an increase in pricing and so they were sending us some toner before that happened. The scammer already knew my name and our office. I was asked if I authorized purchases and I told them "no, my supervisor has to authorize the purchase." The scammer hung up the phone.

Type of a scam: Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill

They had called our office a couple times before. Today, I picked up the call. A lady with a foreign accent sounded like she was struggling to read off of a prompt, telling me that toner price will increase by $40 and to lock in old prices for 24 months. They know my coworker and I are authorized to make service calls and order supplies so she really tried pushing for me to authorize this price change. I let her know that I am not authorized to make financial decisions so I will have my manager contact her (as I was directed to by said manager as she was the one who had advised us about these odd calls). The person on the phone said today was the last day to lock in old prices and really tried to get me to authorize this change. After explaining that my manager needs to call back, she kept saying she will call back in an hour when my manager may be available. Twice again, I told her my manager will call back. She tried telling me she will call and quickly tried to hang up but I was able to say "No, my manager will give you a call when she's available", after I said that she started to say "I'm on an outgoing line-" then the call ended.

Received invoice from *** *** for $491.20. After calling the number on the invoice to inquire about the details and being hung up on twice, called a verified phone number for KM. They said they could locate no such invoice.

After reviewing the invoice again, realized that nothing is in color (looks like photocopies). Googled address where payments were to be sent and it showed "business not registered with the BBB".
