Paid Kirkland,Lewis & Associates $1500 on 2/12/2019 then yesterday 2/24/2022 received a call from Capital Processing stated I owe Barclay bank over $6000. on same debt. Settle with them for $1000.00 I am 78 years old and got scammed from Kirkland 3 years ago. What can I do or who can I call to report this. I called Capital Processing back & they stated I settled with them that it was a different account. I did not have two accounts with Barclay. I tried calling Kirkland & was told by the woman that answered my call that I had the wrong number. The number listed on my payment receipt for Kirkland is 814 351 0205 .

They told me that if I didn't pay a certain amount today, that someone would show up at my place of work and serve me papers to show up in court. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. Upon further research, they were trying to tell me I owe on debt that I'm already paying on. These people do their research and make it extremely believable. Don't fall for it!!

I initially received a call from Maya with Kirkland, Lewis and Associates at 1-844-892-4193 regarding my Citi Card account. She said that I owe $10,330.00 and that Citi Card would be willing to offer me a settlement of $2600.00. I advised her I had been paying on this account to another debt collector for over 2 years and that I only owe $8700.00. She said that her company solely own the rights to my account. I asked her to send me something in writing showing that. She said they would send me an email, which she verified, and a letter. Two days later, I received a second call from her, this time from a private number, asking if I had received an email and if I would like to settle the debt out of court. I told her no, I had not received anything from her and would not be taking any action. She called me a third time, again from a private number, and asked again about the email and if I would like to settle out of court. This time, I told her I had still not received an email or a letter from her and therefore, I would not be sending them a single penny. I also told her I believe this is a scam to which she immediately said it is not and they still own my account. I told her to send me an email and I'll get back to her. Again, as of 11/20/18, I still have not received an email, nor a letter from this company. I should also mention that after the initial phone call, I called the company I have been paying for the last 2 years and they said it was a scam. I also tried to google the company and found nothing. I have searched the ScamPulse.com and found nothing. She did tell me they were located in Wilkes-Barre, PA. I'm sure I will receive another phone call eventually, and at that time, I will ask to be removed from their calling list unless they can provide legitimate proof that they even exist, much less own my citi card account.
