He claims to be a guy named Pete in the army currently deployed in Somalia. I discovered him on the dating app Okcupid. He said his parents died in a plane crash when he was 10 years old and his uncle raised him in Europe. Been randomly texting each other for a month or so and it's been strange from the beginning because he constantly claims he misses and loves me. I even told him this was strange and I felt like he was a catfish. So he backed off for a few days. He wanted to chat initially through whatsapp but I refused. And this 719 number is Colorado based. He recently told me his rank was master sergeant, he patrol 6 nights a week from 9pm-6am, and he will be "coming home" in less than 12 weeks. Hope this helps someone.

He must have changed his name to Pete from Kelvin or whatever else he goes by. Or she. Or whomever. People are insane.

I met this guy on a dating site. He said his name was Pete Stoops. I looked up his name, and because it had been changed (probably multiple times), I couldn't find him. I'm pretty sure he's in Colorado (C Springs area, from the phone number). I can't believe I fell for it. I did look him up. UGH. He was very polite and asked a lot of questions about everything from my favorite color to my favorite movie and what I would do if we got in an argument. He claimed to be in deployed in Somalia and in the Army. He also claimed he lives in Georgia, his mom died, and his dad was also in Georgia. It's weird how far someone will go to scam someone. He was telling me I'm beautiful, all this stuff, which as a middle-aged pudgy mom didn't make a lot of sense anyway. The whole thing makes little to no sense. I have no money, no assets, nothing worth "getting."
It bothers me most that I mentioned my kid. I don't think I ever said their name, but still. UGH.
