Rental Scam Brooklyn

Through a friend of a friend, found a room in a 5 bedroom apartment in Ocean Hill [185 Thomas S Boyland Street] shown to me by "Kelly S." To secure the room, she referred me to Jorge Vega @ Apex Real Estate Consultancy after which I was told I needed to put down a good faith deposit to secure my space. Did so 8/16 with an expected move-in before September 1. As September approach, the last room was never filled and I ended up asking out of the deal 9/04. Apex finally processed my refund request 9/23 and told me to expect 7 business days to receive my money back. Into November now and still haven't received my money, though my friend who referred me to this unit received his back without issue in 4 business days in early September.

I have formally complained to the Better Business Bureau, NY Real Estate Licensing Board, and here now, and am trying to locate business records at the County Clerk's Office (if they exist) to pursue in small claims court.

Run Run Run

Came across some room listings on FB marketplace. Contacted Jorge Vega (Ageva George on FB as well) and went to view some of the places. Saw something I liked and was informed it would go fast, so I needed to put down a month's rent as the deposit and from there they would find additional roommates. Jorge is working with another woman, who answers the FB ads, obtains your personal info(bank statements, ID, pay stubs, etc) and makes sure all required information for your application have been received. After some time, with no additional roommate being found, I decided to come out of the deal. Was informed it would take 12 business days for me to receive my refund. This was a complete lie. My refund has never been provided to me. I hate that others are going through this as well. Hopefully we can all continue to work together to take him and Sarah O'Sullivan down as well. Jorge has used, 929-276-2112 and Sarah or whoever she may be has used, 347-604-8495. Wasn't able to upload the photos. We need to bring these people down. I can imagine many have been ripped off and will continue to be.
